Asian Style Chinoiserie Window Seat GP&J Baker
 
Very well made reclaimed window seat, originally produced by R Griffiths Wychwood Design in Oxfordshire.  Lovely wide double seat.  Newly upholstered in Chifu Velvet by GP & J Baker.  Painted by William Turner in 1915, this dramatic Chinoiserie design of swirling dragons, formalised clouds and branches laden with blooms is based on an 18th century Chinese imperial dragon robe.  Piping detail is Linwood Velvet in a complimentary melon colour.
 
The colourway is charcoal although to our eye it reads deep forest green in natural lighting.  The fabric retails for £220 per metre.
 
The black sabre shaped legs have cery light wear/age and have a slight lacquered sheen to them which compliments the chinoiserie pattern and overall shape of the piece.  
 
Overall a very striking addition for entryway, hallway, end of bed,  below a window, etc.  A quality British made piece with quality British made fabrics.
